Try to explain what 3Metas do is a little complicated. We have two business divisions: B2C is looking to improve communications between our customers and their customers and MyBusiness which improve internal process and operations; on both cases what we use is the state-of-art technology to help our client to achieve their strategic goals. But nothing is better than an example, so let’s use client’s site (www.vargaslleras.com) to show what guys (and girls) from B2C division can do. When we join the German Vargas Lleras running for president 2010 – 2014 campaign we just start our work with something like this: - Communications Strategy: we identified the messages and channels the campaign were using and the success of them. Our first recommendations included changes on what they were sending to voters, we move from “transicioncolombia” -political party- to “vargaslleras” -the real person- the candidate, of course that wasn’t only on social media, that change included traditional communication channels. Some details we can share: for example we create a strategy to unify the tagging on all the sites related with the candidate, and then we selected communication channels, message tone and frequency.
- Then, we redesign candidate website, now the candidate, ideas and activities become more important and we have a place with all the info unified.
- Social media integration was really important; we integrated the site with YouTube, Flickr, Facebook y Twitter and google calendar.
- A unified image on all the social media was development.
- A unified registry system allows us to record Information from supporters from the web site, social media applications and even third party systems.
- Of course we implemented a CMS, a SEO strategy and improve the CMS security system. Tools for tracking and measure of WOM also were integrated on the site and in the monitoring team.
Right now we are development new ways to share the campaign message. Facebook applications are good examples (http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=148891498278) So far, the results have been great, the candidate, the campaign, supporters are really happy and last week the site was selected as better politician web site in Colombia in 2009. Those skills (communication, strategy, software development, design) combinations, the people back stage plus our commitments with the global strategy define us as a digital strategy company. Hope our B2C business division work has got better explain now. Juan Pelaez (@jkpelaez) CEO 3Metas Corp (@3Metas)
The guys from SplendidCRM Company release a new version (3.0), as always they include community edition free of charge and other enterprise versions, the new version includes lot of new features like a workflow engine integrate with the crm core. I’m using SplendidCRM version 2.1.3074.33397. Is a great tool for CRM, based on SugarCRM but ported to .Net, Even Miguel Icaza has mentioned it.
However, when I start running the application I got an error :
Silverlight error message ErrorCode: 2024 ErrorType: ParserError Message: 2024 An error has occurred. XamlFile: Line: 245 Position: 200
In Home page and in Dashboard, it seems like the property TextWrapping in some XAML files now only accepts Wrap, instead of WrapWithOverflow.
The correction is really easy. Here you can download the XAML’s files corrected. Copy them to opportunities/XAML folder.
Other Tricks: if you need to install it on hosted server and the host don’t allow you to run installer, port the solution to Web Application Project, and publish it. Copy the results files to your hosted server. Then run the installer on your machine but in the step related with SQL Server, write the connection info from your Hosted SQL Server. That way I installed the company CRM.

That App will show in one of the conferences and with some lucky, it will be publish in CodePlex as a Reference Sample.
It has been a lot of work, day with 22 hours, but finally is ready. After NDA period I will comment about the application.
Thanks everybody at studiocom, we hope to exceed any expectation you had about this app.
Applications Architecture
- WCF Serialized Class Library
- Content Publisher. WCF Consuming RSS
- Many Clients developed with WCF.
- LiveMesh Service as main container, and also as a router between clients and Publisher.
In a couple of days i will publish more info about the development process, what problems we faced, what problems we solved and how and also how we work in distributed time zones with all the studiocom people in Atlanta, MS in Redmond, the developer (me) in Bogota, Col. and the designer (TF) in other places.

October 20/2008 9:00 am, I just got a call from MS, they want us to develop some projects and trainings. Is the trigger I was waiting, a fresh new start.
I learned a lot in the last years, experiences like be Developer Evangelis on MS Colombia, go through a selection panel in Endeavor, worked in Studiocom , all the MS recruiting process, open my mind, there are a lot of opportunities here and there.
In the next few months, with some friends, we will build a long term Project, hopefully hiring many people and getting back to the society.
I can’t say too much yet, but if you want to know more about our products, software development services or business consulting services, just send me a note to jpelaez at juanpelaez.com. I am pretty sure we will exceed your expectations.
